LARGE ART DECO 3 PIECE HALLMARKED SILVER CRUET SET BIRMINGHAM 1927 click on images to enlarge A large Art Deco three piece panelled silver cruet set comprising a tall pepperette, an open salt and a hinged lidded mustard. The latter two have Bristol blue glass liners. They were made by Docker & Burn and assayed in Birmingham in 1927. In good condition for their age with just the odd scattered little dint which can be seen on close inspection. Structurally they are sound apart from the possibility of dotting to the inners; the liners to the mustard and salt are trapped to the inside and set at a very slight angle so it is difficult to assess. The set does not include spoons. The weight of the pepperette is given separately so that you are able to assess the excellent gauge of the set. Please note, it wasn’t until I photographed them in the sunlight that I realised they required a polish, with a quick wipe and a little polish they have come up beautifully shiny. Display well.
